Reattach the lid and install the pint in the outer bowl again.Once the ice cream is at the right consistency, dig a hole in the middle of the pint all the way to the bottom.If the ice cream is crumbly, then reattach the lid and install the bowl on the base again. When the unit shuts off, remove the bowl from the base and remove the lid.Press the power button and select LITE ICE CREAM.Plug in the Ninja CREAMi unit and install the bowl on the base.
Install the paddle in the lid and attach lid to the outer bowl.
Take the pint from the freezer, remove the lid, and place it in the outer bowl. Place the pint in the freezer, making sure it's level. Pour the mixture into the CREAMi pint, making sure it doesn't go over the MAX FILL line, then put the lid on it. To prepare the base, place all the base ingredients in a mixing bowl and whisk until the sweetener is dissolved and the color is uniform, if using food coloring. And of course, you can use regular chocolate pieces in this recipe, just remember that it will increase the carbs if that’s important to you. You could also use cacao nibs in the recipe. Low carb chocolate chips These low carb chocolate chips are my favorite, but there are lots of different brands, so use what you prefer. Add more until you achieve the color intensity you like. If using food coloring, start with just a little bit. You can leave it out and your ice cream will look like vanilla, but have a minty flavor. Green food coloring This certainly isn’t a necessary ingredient, but I like my mint ice cream to be green so I use some in the recipe. Whichever one you use will probably affect consistency a bit, so you may need to adjust the amount slightly. But you could also use another plant-based milk, or even cow milk here. Use whatever gets you a flavor and consistency you like.Īlmond milk I prefer plain or vanilla almond milk in most of my recipes. Heavy cream I prefer heavy cream in my recipes, but you could also try half-n-half, coconut cream or coconut milk, or a heavy whipping cream alternative. Just can’t get enough minty desserts? Many national and store brands have a noticeable alcohol and/or chemical flavor to them. Mint extract Be sure to use a good quality mint extract ( this is my favorite), since it can heavily influence the flavor of your ice cream. If you aren’t eating low carb, feel free to use higher carb sweeteners, like syrups, honey, more agave nectar, or even sugar. But other low-carb sweeteners can be used in its place. Monk fruit sweetener This is my go-to sweetener to keep the carb count down. I often skip it simply because I don’t have it on hand.
